That is why COMMET GROUP surrounds itself with the best engineers and technicians to execute your projects and think of the solutions of tomorrow.

In this regard, COMMET Group has filed several patents at the European level, particularly:

  • high-voltage cable support solutions with a dielectric insulating coating (Copoprotec)
  • fire protection solutions for installations (IVV mineral protect covers)

Before selling these solutions, COMMET Group relies on COFRAC laboratories to validate the tests previously done in the factory.

INNOVATION No. 1 COPOPROTECT : INSULATION AND PROTECTION

COMMET Group has developed a coating solution for steel structures that provides metal supports (brackets, cable ladders, etc.) with multiple advantages - in addition to dielectric insulation - allowing for the elimination of the need for grounding, thus making installations safe. This coating, tested under multiple conditions (immersion, shock, abrasion, UV, etc.), makes high-voltage cable support solutions more durable (corrosion resistant) as well as more reliable (mechanical resistance in case of breakdowns or during cable laying).

INNOVATION No. 2 : EASY RANGE - RESISTANT STRAPS

COMMET Group has developed a technology for strapping high-voltage cables to various supports (brackets, floor, ceiling, etc.) that ensures the retention of cables under all conditions, including during short circuits or cable breakdowns.

INNOVATION No. 3 : FIRE PROTECTION COWL

The innovative half-shell design of the IVV MINERAL PROTECT® anti-common mode screens, designed and manufactured by COMMET Group, allows for:

To adapt to the curves of the gas insulated substation cable ascents.

To provide fire protection while ensuring ventilation and thermal dissipation of live cables.

To carry out the installation without touching live cables.

The geometry of the cowls is designed according to the cable diameters and the radius of curvature.

INNOVATION No. 4 - PYLON PROTECTION

Building on its experience in the combination of composite materials and metals (COM - MET), COMMET Group has developed an innovative cowling technology that protects pylons against acts of vandalism (Molotov cocktails, burning tires, etc.). This solution has been designed to ensure the cowl's resistance to mechanical attacks as well as to any attempted arson. Its double casing and self-ventilation technology also provides natural heat dissipation even during normal use and prevents cable overheating in case of prolonged UV exposure.

INNOVATION No. 5 - SNIFER : PREVENTING FIRE RISKS

Preventing the spread of fire means reacting before it even ignites. From this observation, COMMET Group has developed a predictive technology that monitors the atmosphere around the cables during the ascent under the transformer substations. These areas are the most critical as they are directly located under the substations, but they also are the most exposed to the risk of fire ignition and acceleration along the ascent.
